Emergency Tribal Treaty Litigation

In 2010, we obtained a preliminary injunction in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington on behalf of a Treaty tribe. The Court’s order prohibited the United States from allowing Hawaiian solid waste to be imported into the United States mainland and dumped on Treaty-protected lands. The Tribe has successful prevented Hawaiian garbage from being allowed on the mainland or within its historic fishing, hunting and gathering areas to date.
